Saw it in my Dec. email statement. Seasonal service from PHL.

I wonder what planes they'll use?

Beginning in May, US Airways will offer seasonal daily flights to Venice, Italy and Barcelona, Spain via our Philadelphia gateway. Experience the magic of the Venetian canals and the unique architecture and Catalan culture of Barcelona. Our complete summer schedule for Europe includes thirteen exciting destinations including our very popular seasonal service to Dublin and Shannon, Ireland and Glasgow, Scotland. All seasonal service is available for travel through October 29, 2005.

Glasgow, Dublin, Shannon, Manchester, London, Paris, Madrid, Frankfurt, Rome, Amsterdam, Munich, Venice, and Barcelona...

Pretty good Euro-coverage IMHO. If only they flew them all with A330s.

Don't you know? They're bringing back the MD-11 for those routes! ;)

There is already a topic on this. They are using 767's for the Barcelona and Venice route.

Yep, they will use the 767-200ERs. If people actually take these flights, it will certainly be out of convenience b/c we all know those old 767s are in desperate need of an interior upgrade. The Envoy Class seats are in really bad shape. I wish US Airways had the money to dump these old planes and get more A330s.

I have never been on a US 767-200. However, I did take an AC flight from YYZ-TLV R/T a few years ago on a 767-200. The worst airplane for international flights, bar none. I was stuck in sardine class, and that's how it felt for the entire flight. Never again will I fly on one... or at least I'll try to avoid them like the plague. I do like the A330 and the B777 for coach.

Actually, I really like the 767 in Y. There's only one middle seat per row making your chance of getting one 1 in 7. If the US aircraft weren't so ratty and had individual IFE, it would definately be my favourite A/C to fly internationally.

I'll stick with the A330 and then fly to my destination on an Euro carrier.
