Hilton HHonors - Hilton Munich Park hotel Trip Reports and ReviewsView Full Version : Hilton Munich Park hotel Trip Reports and Reviews woody1173 Aug 15, 02, 11:53 pm anyone been to this one recently? gold benefits? thanks... Counsellor Aug 16, 02, 1:11 am Yes. Gold benefits include upgraded floor and concierge lounge. Location is great. There have been a number of threads on this property recently. For instance: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/003327.html http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/003981.html http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/004340.html http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum57/HTML/004818.html If you'd like to see more, click on "search" at the top of the "Hilton" page, enter "Munich Park" in the "Search Words" box and make sure the " Match all search terms above" button is clicked. Then go down and click on "Perform Search". You'll enjoy the place. [This message has been edited by Counsellor (edited 08-16-2002).] essxjay Aug 16, 02, 2:24 am Agreed, Counsellor. Munich Park is a delightful property with good tram service. I stayed there on a point-stretcher award and, as a Gold, was upgraded to an executive floor king. Nice breakfast spread in the lounge and complementary wine and beer in the evenings. DJC Aug 16, 02, 2:27 am I also agree. I stayed there three weeks ago and, as an HH Gold, was upgraded to a very nice room on the Executive Floor overlooking the Englischer Garten. The Lounge is lovely and the staff extremely helpful. Good breakfast buffet too! best Aug 16, 02, 11:45 am First class property. I would be glad to return anytime! Hans0001 Dec 23, 04, 5:34 am Hi there similar to the Toronto Hilton thread, the Munich Park Hilton lounge is closed for "renovation". As it was only recently refurbished, it is more than clear that hotel management uses the holidays to reduce staff and close "unnecessary" areas during that time. Nevertheless .... upgrade to business floor, free breakfast in main restaurant was given. As an alternative to the Exec lounge they divided the regular bar on the ground floor in a common and an executive area where they offer identical amenities (free drinks, fingerwood, plenty of magazines and newspaper). Actually the overall experience is good and a clever alternative. I was there 12/20 and I asked one of the servers in the cigar lounge (Executive Section) what the deal was and she mentioned that it was just because of the Christmas Holliday. GodOSpoons Dec 27, 04, 10:44 pm I hope this is the case. I've cross-subsidized many Hilton Munich Park stays with the unlimited alcohol in the Executive lounge. :) Timothy Plus, you don't have to eat with the little people. :) DJC Dec 28, 04, 11:25 am I had a very similar experience when I was at the Munich Park just after Christmas two years ago (perhaps, then, it really was being renovated). Then, however, you just showed a card to the barman in the Whiskey Bar to get free drinks - there was no division in the seating. Service at this hotel is always top notch and it ranks as one of my favourites in Europe. I am pleased to see that they are maintaining the levels of service still. gaugeguy Dec 31, 04, 2:12 pm Does this seem rediculous? 8 min phone call from room to US for E 34.41 ($46.45) seem resonable? There was no rate information posted in the room. At the Scandic Hotel in Offenbach, I made a similar call for E 3.50. At check out, I questioned this and they made no attempt to change the charge. I mentioned that they didnt post rate information in the room and they did say they were sorry for that. No manager around to complain to. This was a paid stay with a E 197.41 folio value. I guess as a Diamond member, they would treat you a little better. There was no recognition of Diamond status at all except for the free breakfast they had to provide. No room upgrade. ironmanjay Dec 31, 04, 2:16 pm Everytime I have stayed there, I always got the "we are sold out" line when I asked for an upgrade... Stefan0521 Dec 31, 04, 3:09 pm Considering the fact that a call from a normal (i. e. non-hotel) phone in Germany would have cost about 1 EUR for that lapse of time, this is indeed ridiculous. Maybe they charged 8 hours? However, my personal record is something around $400 for a 1 hour phone call from my hotel in Bulgaria to Germany... that's what I call a surprise! I guess for that amount I could have flown back and fourth and delivered the information personally. LOL Regards, Stefan Counsellor Jan 1, 05, 5:04 am I'd recommend you write to the manager, particularly since they didn't warn you of the high charges. flo_147 Jan 8, 08, 2:56 pm well, i have booked 2 rooms from 31.12. to 2.1.2008. I am a gold member and recieved 5! bar vouchers (we ordered the most expensive drink :D ), best available deluxe room (because the lady at the check-in counter said that there are no exec. rooms available at the moment), minibar credit for a evian water (about 6 Euro) and last but not least 5 breakfast vouchers. All in all we saved about 350 Euro...Great isn't it? ^^^ Didi Jan 8, 08, 3:12 pm I guess as a Diamond member, they would treat you a little better. There was no recognition of Diamond status at all except for the free breakfast they had to provide. No room upgrade. Oh boy, good for them that I was not in your situation. I would have been veeeery loud, you can believe me :D:D:D 46 USD for a 8 minute call and no upgrade? Pha... That makes me feel comfortable not going to stay there. Was actually thinking about it because I need some few nights to requalify for another Diamond year. cfischer Jan 8, 08, 7:24 pm what a nice property! We stayed there Dec. 27-29 and I was upgraded to the Exec. floor ^^^, but this is not all, the 2nd room for my parents was also upgraded to Exec. floor ^ :) :D :- :^ Great lounge, which has apparently been remodeled recently (no more smoking in Bavaria as of 1.1.08 ^). One of the best stays at a Hilton in the past couple of years! Highly recommended and I will be back next time I am in MUC. nixande Jan 12, 08, 7:05 am do you know if the lounge is opened on the weekend? cfischer Jan 12, 08, 8:37 am do you know if the lounge is opened on the weekend? there was no indication the lounge would close on any day. With 2 exec. floors I guess they need to keep it open all year. 7 am - 11 pm |
