US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Bump Chances LGA-ROC tomorrow AM--How oversold?

Im flying LGA-ROC on US xpress tomorrow morning. I'm hoping for a bump as its only on a Dash 8 and thus around 35 seats.

This what ITN shows:

LGA-ROC 12/23 7:30 AM
Cabin class: Y0 B0 H0 V0 S0 M0 T0 Q0 L0 W0 K0 N0

Im thinking this is good for bumping, but how can I tell how many seats they are oversold by? Also if all the remainig flights from LGA-ROC are al;so oversold and I take the bump at 730, would I theorhetically keep getting put on the next flight? If so, then tomorrow could be the "day of the bump"

Call them they should be able to tell you.

If you want ask the G/A that you will take a bump in replacement for a free r/t ticket. However, you are taking the chance that you might be bumped all the way through because after that your on stand-by. You might get re-routed through PHL, PIT or DCA.

Agreed, they should be able to tell you how many the flight is oversold by. Make sure to ask the direct question "how many is the flight oversold by?".

Ive called twice, one agent refused to tell me..she just said sold out and the other agent said oevrsold by "a few". I'd have no issues w/ a few bump vouchers and being re-routed through PHL or PIT...I'm no fan of the Dash 8 anyway. Thanks for the answers! So Im basically standby on the other flights and not a guaranteed seat--that was my main question.

Due to the small number of seats on this plane, they are very good at guessing exactly how many people will show up. I'd had several occasions where a Dash 8 has shown all 0's, been oversold by 4 or more, and yet went out with every seat full and no one has been bumped. That being said, I've also been bumped when a flight has been oversold by 2, so good luck!

Make sure you check in at the front counter as early as possible, and ask to be put on the "volunteer list" at that point. Your volunteer "order" is based on what time you get on the volunteer list, and not check-in time or status (Although, the agents have the power to re-order the list and bump whoever they want). Ask them what number you are on the volunteer list at that time. Then, go to the gate, let them know that you have volunteered, ask them again what number you are, and realistically what your chances are of being bumped. If it's severely oversold, they may put you on another flight right away, rather than waiting to see if your seat is actually needed.

Stay close to the gate area so you can hear yourself being paged, but whatever you do, don't crowd the gate agents, as this only serves to annoy them.

Once again, good luck! :)

No, if they VDB you they *should* be able to confirm you on another flight. US AIRWAYS FAN was stating if you keep going for the bump at LGA and they run out of flights then you're on standby.

JCOOKE, Thanks for clearing that up. That is exactly what I meant.
