US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Elite Security Line at DCA?
I normally fly out of LAX on UA...while I have my complaints about that, one great thing is that there is a security line to the gates for Mileage Plus Elites only. Is there something like this for US Airways at DCA? I'm going to be taking the Shuttle flight a lot in the next few months between LGA and DCA and the line today was just crazy. Just curious - thanks.

There isn't an elite security line at DCA.

While there isn't an elite line, security is terminal-specific within DCA so the lines are usually quite manageable. You're not going through one security line for all gates and all airlines.
The hassle is when you're transferring within DCA that includes changing terminals. You then have to re-clear security again.

Sad that they do not have that however, they have just started construction on the North Pier where the shuttle gates are. I think by Feb or March they will expand from 4 security lines to 6 at that pier.
It would be nice if they did have a priority line for connecting passengers and First Class/Preferred passengers.

Actually, the UA elite line at LAX T6/7 is for Star Alliance Gold and Silver members as well. I used it this morning with my US Chairman's card, in fact, and it was a huge timesaver over the regular line. Felt a little guilty walking past all those non-frequent flyers, though. :)
DCA security lines have been very long recently, but there just aren't enough lanes available to dedicate one to elites only.

A little off topic, but...
One time I was flying US out of LAX, my mother and sister were also flying out, but on a different flight. They were able to checkin no problem online, but I wasn't. So they got at the end of the line (which was well out the door), and I was going to join them. I check in and get my upgrade (woohoo!) and the agent says, "Here's a club pass so you don't have to wait in the long line. Just take the elevator up one floor to get to the club and security." Being the good son/brother I am, I walk out, find my family in line and just as all the WN pax start to yell at me for cutting, I take my family out of line and over to the elevator. We go and enjoy the club for a half hour or so. It was close to both of our departure times, so we head toward security. Lo and behold, the same people who were in line with my family are just coming up the stairs. Some are shocked that we got ahead and some are angry that we just hop in the shortest line. It made me smile a little bit. :)
