Planning to stay here with one or two friends for about 5 days in March, and am looking for hotel recommendations. Unfortunately, Rayavadee is out due to $$. If they were still Starwood, I'd use points in a heartbeat, but alas...
I'd like to find the next step down in terms of nicest hotel(s) on Railay peninsula after Rayavadee in terms of general accomodations, air conditioning, pool, beach access to West Railay beach (the good side of the peninsula), good food/restaurant/beach bar, etc. Price is not a concern among the non-Rayavadee hotels that are in the area, from what I've seen.
Any thoughts? Many thanks...

Hello, I have been to Bankok 6 times this year and several times in years past. I have found a very reliable travel agent in Bangkok, which I have recommended on other post and I believe everyone who has used her have been very happy.
I use them to get rooms in Thialand, Burmas, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
I use them for Visa's (I leave my passport with them)
I use them for flights within Asia.
Overall I am extemely happy with their service with the exception that they don't ever try to sell you anything. They do not make suggestions. In one way its very nice not to be upsold or even sold, on the other hand if you don't know what to ask for you won't find out.
I have just contacted them again for 2 trips I am doing in Jan and Feb. The owners name is Marilyn. You can call her Miss Marilyn and her office is in the Pan tip plaza. This is the place to pickup CD movies and software.
There email address is:
dadotour@loxinfo.co.th
You can mention my name MR. Robert as I am known to her or FlyerTalk and she will look after you with a little more consideration to pricing.
Please let me know and the board what you think of her services if you use them.
Regards,
Robert
PS. since she won't try to sell you anything, you have to be very specific as to what type of room you want, air, fan, beach off the beach, high rise, resort etc. Price range, quality.
Any side trips, excursions etc. for these you can ask if they have them available.
