On my most recent trip to Vegas, I had the opportunity to dine at two recently openned restaurants.
First was Joe's 'affiliated' with Joe's Stone Crabs of Miami, but owned by a chain of upscale restaurants. It's located in the new section of Caesar's Forum Shops. It has a nice selection various fish/seafood dishes and what looks to be 'power dinner' steaks. The meal consisted mostly of a selection of appetizers, but I will be back. Nice pours from the bar too.
We had dinner at the new Maggiano's in the Fashion Show Mall. It was an excellent meal and reasonably priced. Most of the appetizers would qualify as full meals. Half portions are enough for two people We had some nice steaks. They had a special on Beaulieu Vineyards Tapestry for $48/bottle. Sharing one desert and appetizer, the meal was $135 plus tip which I thought very reasonable.
Maggiano's also a has menu for $30 per person. It's served family style and intended for groups of 4 or more. You pick two appetizers, two pastas, two entrees and two deserts for the group. This would be a great location/menu for a Vegas-doo. Also, if you sit in the dining room above the Strip, you have views down the strip in both directions.
