Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - how to fly 4 free and earn miles as SEN

In an evening traffic jam to MUC airport and having missed my DI cheapo flight to HAM, I decided to forget about the money and made a reservation for the last flight of the day in C on LH. I arrived at check-in 8 mins before departure. The agent was laughing when I asked if I could still check-in saying that the flight was long closed. Nevertheless, she pulled out a blank boarding pass and scribbled the word "Hamburg" on it. "Run!" she said, without checking anything on her screen. I arrived at the gate right at departure time. Flashing my SEN card, the agent there called down to the plane asking the pilot if he would still take me. Indeed, they reopened the door for me and a minute later I was on my way home!
The next morning, I asked my travel agent what the cost of the ticket would be. He was laughing an said, well, seems like you got away with it! LH did not issue a ticket ; there is no CC in the booking nor have you signed anything.... Best of all, I promptly got the miles, plus exec bonus...!

My Y ticket on DI was no longer usable, nor would they ever let you use it on another airline. They really let me on (in C) completely without a ticket

did u get miles for biz class as well for exactly this flight? To get miles LH needs a ticket number, so there must exist a ticket for your flight!

You are right, but there was (and is) no ticket nor ticket number. But I did receive the regular 1500 plus bonus miles. It may have to do with them sliding my SEN card once at check-in.

well....maybe other people do have an explanation for what happened, I have to rest my case  Maybe that's one of the new benefits for SENs ???? :D :D :D

Hmm... just a few days ago someone complained that MUC staff were rude and unflexible. Then people always keep complaining how bad LH is in honoring their super duper SEN customers.

Now they gift a SEN in need a seat in a plane to get to the place where he wants to go. Somehow the two statements don't fit together ;)

Okay, do I sense a LH shareholder? :p

Edited to add: In all seriousness, I think it's outstanding that they made that happen; hopefully these types of actions will become the new trend.

I am certainly owning LH shares and do not disagree with what I read in this thread... ^

Sadly no. Missed the low price to hop on the bandwagon. Now they are overpriced. All my money is stuck on german accounts earning 2,3%. The rest which normally should be saved goes to LH & friends to see my GF every other week. So when Oli20 and other shareholder get dividends tehy owe me a beer.

done! although I don't agree with you if you say LH shares are overpriced!!
P/E ratio of roughly 18 isn't too bad compared to other European Airlines if you take LH's business modell into consideration which I think is far better than anything else flying around. (not only talking about HON ;) but Cargo for example.)

Great you made it on your flight. Remenbers me of a EasyJet Flight a close freind of mine took some time ago. They gave him a white paper at checkin with a handwritten "Mr (name) is okay to board" (whatever flight I may add).

Depending on the amount you should consider that at the moment you can get 2,75% at Banco Santander former CC-Bank.

Perhaps then you can visit your GF more often :p
