Appears it wasn't only Britney and Jessica that got Cent cards handed to them like candy :D
Pretty funny read. Why hasnt this girl (not Lindsay, the other) found her own lawyer yet? Oh well...

It seems to me that often when someone other than a lawyer threatens legal action, it is an empty threat and a sign that you have some leverage over the person making the threat.

It is most interesting that she has been an Amex member since 2004. That means that she did not have to wait a year with the Plat before qualifying for the Centurion.
If I had to wait a year before getting the card...why didnt she? I guess there are two possible answers:
1. She has a large account with Cent bank and qualified that way
OR
2. They give them away to celebs to add mystique to the card
I assume its the latter. That means we have another item to add to the 1000's of annoying topics about how to get a Black Card...become a hollywood tartlet and the card wil be yours!

I like the :) on the card... :)
Personally, I'd get my own lawyer, then hand over the entire package to the police with my lawyer. (Optional media circus show when handing over the package.)
It seems obvious to me that she has/needs a black card - how else do you divide up this 'white powder'? White powder on black cards will provide the best contrast. :p

There is something seriously wrong with our society when we idolize and gratuitously make millionaires of young women like Lindsay Lohan. However I suspect fate will catch up with her in the end.

No, additional cardholders show the "member since" date of the primary account holder.
I'm an authorized user on my father's Platinum card and it has me listed as a member since 1958 (he was one of the original Amex cardmembers). I was born in 1981. Do the math. :p

It's yes to question 2
My wife is a business manager in the entertainment field. Amex has a special division for celebrities.
So the easy way to get one is become famous!
BTW imdb.com says her middle name is Morgan not Dee

I guess that is another way to get the Centurion, which could be added to the list on how to get a Centurion.
I wonder what Amex definition of a celebrity is? If you win Survivior or Amazing Race can you get the card?

Not in Germany and Switzerland at least. My two current Amex cards show member since 99. All my Amex cards in fact ever showed member since 99.
Good question: What is a celebrity ?
I for one would say Plato, Aristotle, Caesar, Augustus, Columbus, Washington, Jefferson, Napoleon, Hitler, Mao, etc. were famous persons for the good or bad they have done to society.
But Lindsay Lohan is nowhere near making that list. She isn't even dead yet!

I do not doubt you; however I do have to disagree :P Both my supplementary card holders have "member since" in 04, even though I've had my card since 03.
If we really cared enough, we could email asking the current "holder" of her card and ask for the second last digit ;)

Interesting. Must only be a US thing to show "member since" the original cardholder's join date.

Totally agree. I still do not think L.L. is a real (A-list) celebrity, those famous and alive Amex does, could or should care about are Tiger Woods, Bill Clinton, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Jack Nicklaus, Michael Jordan, etc.

Since mine is an OZ based card I dont know if this is the same for the US based cards BUT my card has both the issue Month / Year AND the expiry MONTH / YEAR on it - that card only has the expiry date. Also my card has a four digit number embossed on the bottom right of the card.
Finally that card looks unused - mine has swipe marks at the top where it goes through the card reader, which appear almost the first time you us it, not to mention the fact that the "silver" wears to unreadable black VERY quickly and the card is more grey than silver as shown in that shot.

Amex is starting to just have the expiry date on their cards. Also you need to consider that the picture always distorts the true color of the card.

Talking about plausibility... what about the card number? It starts with 37, like all AmEx cards start with either 37 or 34 AFAIK. The following 4 digits should be the same on all US-issued Centurion Cards, can anybody verify that? Regarding the checking algorithm the card number makes sense, but it could be a fake nevertheless.

Last 2 digits are for supplementary cards, and presumably for multiple amex cards for one person.

The last digit actually is the check digit, it can be calculated from the others by an easy algorithm. The two digits before that indicate if it is the main card or an additional card of the current account. Main cards are 00, the additional cards are 01 and following. The digit before that is the card issue count, each time your card is replaced this number will increase (as long as the account number stays the same).
The first two digits of the number are always 37 or 34 for amex, the next two digits indicate country and type (credit/charge). I. e. it's 42 for UK and 50 for German charge cards. As we mentioned before, obviously it's 17 for US charge cards. The two digits after that are the product type of the card. 88 for most European Centurions, 84 for Platinum and Gold Cards.
The digits left are the account number, somewhere in there you can even find an indicator for the billing cycle of your account...
Pretty soon people will be able to guess my card numbers. ;)
Chris
Actually we know them completely now... Let's go shopping! :D j/k

This was a pretty good passage:
I told Lindsay's publicist that I would like to return it to her in person so that I knew it was going to her. She said she would ask her. Supposedly Lindsay was freaked out by the whole thing and was crying hysterically and denied ever doing any drugs. The publicist told me she only drinks a lot and likes to party, and smokes cigarettes, but what 18 year old doesn't...what a publicist she is!

I don't know if this thing is legit or not, but little details such as DOBs and height are always fudged by publicists. It wouldn't surprise me if Lindsay Lohan's actual middle name is Dee, with her image consultants changing it to Morgan to be cooler, more Hollywood. I mean, when I think of the name Dee, I picture an old spinster with a thousand cats... :D

Well, explain it better, then.
Regarding the vast number of different card types, especially on the US market, there are definitely more possibilities than those I mentioned. Additionally, they most probably introduced new combinations to cover the demand of certain card types...
