I check out BFT, and nary a Hampton Inn shows up, at least not in Michigan. I found a couple of Hilton Suites and Hilton Inns, but no Hampton.

So, either the rules are such that Hamptons are referred to as Hiltons, or there are indeed no Hamptons' participating.

Anyone know?

Hampton Inns in other cities have come up on Priceline.

It really depends on the owners. I'm sure there are some, but I've never bid low enough to get one.

I think most Hampton Inns would fall into the 2-star category at Priceline, and I don't usually bid for that low in most places. But I'm sure I've seen a few listed as having come up in some zones.

Bidding for 2-star can be pretty sketchy IMO unless you have thorough knowledge of what the choices might turn out to be. Hampton and possibly Marriott's Fairfield are pretty consistent, but other brands that would fall in there are less so.

I use PL to book my employees quite often, recently got a Hampton Inn in the RDU/Cary NC area for one night.

Got a Hampton Inn via PL, and in Michigan to boot.

October '03, the Hampton Inn South in Ann Arbor. 2*, winning bid was $40/night.

I always felt that Hampton Inns would fall under 2.5*, like Country Inn & Suites.

Just curious, what levels are you typically booking for your employees.

Anywhere from 2-5 depending on the situation. In this case it was an out of town employee visiting our RDU location and a customer for the day. He then took an early flight the next AM to visit another customer. I think he spent a grand total of 6 hours in the hotel.

In an unfamiliar town, I try to book a 4 star or higher on PL. NYC is 4 or 5.
