Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns - I want my ABC (on the inflight Directv)

So I'm flying back this past Saturday evening from Chicago on F9, and I'm thinking that I will actually try the DirecTV in-flight service so I can watch the Big 12 championship game on the inflight programming. However, the Directv service does not include ABC (on which the game was broadcast). I got updates on the ESPNews channel, but the game itself was unavailable. Anybody know who decides which Directv channels are included on inflight programming, and why they pick the ones they do? Inquiring minds want to know. ..

It looks like the DirecTv programming is the same as JetBlue. I wonder if the channels are pre-selected which cannot be changed.

LiveTV which is a subsidary of JetBlue operates the DirectTV service. Last year for the Super Bowl they carried CBS. I was on a flight that morning, and they even made it free for the day. 6 hours before kick-off and CBS had the pre-game shows going on already. So for special events they would change a channel, however the Big 12 championship does not qualify in a lot of people's minds as one of those events.
Frontier actually signed the letter of intent for the service before JetBlue purchased LiveTV.

Given that F9 is based out of DEN, and that the local team, the Colorado Buffaloes were playing in that game, there could be a slight argument for F9 to pick up ABC for that time period on the DirectTV service...not as profound as a Super Bowl but still, given the DEN factor, something to consider...

However LiveTV determines what is on the airwaves. If you ever want to know what will be on your F9 flight just go to the JetBlue website and you can get the program guide in grid format.
