Looking to meet with a financial planner in the short-term. In the past, I think there have been a few deals where miles come along with an initial consultation.

Obviously, miles wouldn't solely drive the decision about who I would choose, but if I'm going to be interviewing a bunch, I might as well rack up some miles.

OT -- If anyone has a CFP they could recommend (w/o miles), I'd appreciate a tip (PM, since it's off-topic).

Thanks

As someone who has been in the financial services workplace for over 30 years, I personally would not go to any advisor other than fee paid. When my cleints come to me for advise, I refer than to a fee paid advisor.

Agreed. In my experience with one interview with an AMEX financial planner, he wanted a fee that was double the normal amount most planners would charge to write up a plan, would include only AMEX approved mutual funds in that plan, and would make a commission on the sale of those plans to me. No thanks. (But I got the miles... :D)
