American Express Membership Rewards - Charge Card Redesigns

It seems that ALL charge cards (maybe not Centurion) are being redesigned like the Green card. I saw an advert in a magazine for Platinum (not the recent UK adverts) and it looked the same at the new green card, only in the silver/platinum colour. Has anyone else noticed this? I think the magazine I saw this in was Wine Spectator, but I can't remember for sure whether it was.

I guess it's there way of trying to encourage you to spend enough money to get a titanium Centurion card.

Yep, that's what I saw - maybe it's limited to the US, since it was a US publcation, but maybe not.

I like the way it looks now :( One of the things I like about the AmEx plat is how nice it looks, it has class :td:

I dont think that Amex is redesigning their charge card to look like the Green Card. I do think they are updating the look to look more like the US issued rewards gold and green card.

According to their website, they have redesigned the cards - by clicking on each card you can see what they look like

Well, I definitely saw the redesigned Platinum card in this magazine ad - I'll try and remember exactly where I saw it - it looked like the linked gold card only platinum.

I think Amex is redesigning all their charge cards to resemble the new Gold rewards card.

I wish Amex would leave the orginal designs alone!

OK- Im on vacation, finished all my Holiday shopping and have alot of free time.

Just received the latest copy of Vanity Fair (Arnold and Maria on cover) and in the back there is an insert promoting the movie the Aviator. In that insert you can see the new Amex charge cards. They are not "redesigned" they are "refreshed." They look like the new rewards charge cards.
