I've been watering at the mouth for a couple of weeks now thinking of this thing. I've been wanting an Ipod, but, this is getting better reviews on a lot of the typical web pages (zdnet, pcreview, etc). It's a 20 gig system, same weight roughly as the Ipod and same dimensions. It has been said by everyone to sound better than the Ipod and it can play back mpeg and avi videos, it can also hold jpegs and bmps..... ALL I wanna know is, does anyone have any experience with this thing and if so, TALK ABOUT IT!! WOO HOO!!!

lol,

Thanks

Here's a pretty detailed review (http://reviews.designtechnica.com/review2046.html). The only thing that bothers me is it yet another device with non-replaceable lith-ion batteries. This means once your out of the one year warranty and the batteries won't recharge, you'll have to pay whatever fee they decide to get the replaced.

I have no experience with the Gemini series but I have four of the AV series (two AV380's, one AV320, and one AV340). Personally I LOVE them. When my kids fly I put all their DVD's onto them and can hold over 100 children's movies in MPEG4 format on the AV380 systems (each one) or more in lower format. Can hook it up to the TV in the hotels and such. The AV series has FM remote with 20 second delay and I think it is same for Gemini. AV series has camera / video attachment. I know you are looking at the Gemini but I got hooked on AV series. For me they are great.

The batteries they say are not replaceable; however you can purchase the batteries and replace yourself, you just void the warranty. So far, I've experienced no problems with the systems at all. Archos is a French Company with little marketing in the USA; but I can't sing their praise enough. Add the Bose QC2 and you're set for some great flights.
