Hello, I'm new to this forum. I've read a few things already and it is quite nice. I just wanted to share my trip with all of you and maybe you could even help me.
I flew from LAX to Amsterdam last saturday the 27th of November. I was the best trip I've ever had. Not because of the plane (it was a normal 747-400), not because of the food (it was not bad actually, pasta for dinner and a sandwich with melted cheese for breakfast) but because of the company.
I was in seat 30H which luckily is an aisle seat and to the left one row back was a beautiful dark haired woman with the most beautiful brown eyes I've ever seen. I had not seen her at first but I saw her looking at me after take off. She was in seat 31F.
After that first glance we kept making eye contact, smiling at each other and exchanging blinks :) . Even during the night (the flight lasted all night) when we were supposed to sleep, while I was laying in my seat on my left side to be able to see her all the time, she kept her head to the right to be able to see me all the time. We only dozed, opening our eyes every few seconds to exchange looks and smiles. It was the shortest flight I've ever had even while it lasted more than 9 hours. For me, I wouldn't have minded to stay in the air all day.
But unfortunately, we landed of course and I did not have a chance anymore to get her name, her address, anything at all. I was too late in giving her a business card, so she doesn't know who I am too :( :( .
I'm trying to find her on the net, but so far of course without result. KLM will never give me access to the passenger list so I will probably remain empty handed with only the best flying memory ever.

Welcome to Flyertalk dutchguy001! Thanks for sharing your story with us.
On the remote possibility that one of our KLM experts can help you with this, I am going to relocate this thread into the KLM forum leaving a redirected link here. Good luck in tracking her down!

Thanks, it's a long shot. Maybe someone has some connections at KLM to help me?

Sean,
I'm sure you acted with the best of intentions, but I would question whether it's advisable to respond to this sort of story.
This gentleman is trying to identify another passenger, even to the extent of giving her exact flight and seat number. You only have his word as to his motives. While it may be perfectly innocent, is it really a good idea to encourage this sort of behaviour?
I'm sorry if that sounds patronising; I honestly don't mean it that way.

I am neither seeking to encourage or discourage his behaviour. The job of a moderator is not to pass judgement on the motives of the posters but to ensure that all Flyertalk members have a forum available to ask their questions or make their comments within the scope of the TOS.
For all we know, the passenger in question might be one of the lovely ladies who are regular contributors to our KLM forum! As always, every member is free to choose their level of participation on this thread and on the boards in general.

Hello Andy,
I could not agree more to your response to my quest on this forum. You don't know me, nor my motives to try and find this woman. This is merely an enquiry to see whether someone could help me find her. For all you know I'm some sleezeball trying to stalk an innocent woman. I don't mind that you comment on that as well but please understand why I'm doing this..
I don't know if it has ever happened to you that someone put the world as you know it upside down, but it did for me last weekend. The KLM has already answered me that they cannot provide me with her details which is also understandable because of privacy laws. The only other alternative I have (and had) was to reach for the internet as a last resort.
I can only hope that she is doing the same, searching the internet for me and the only way to do this is to provide as much information as possible to search for. If I cannot find her, then that I have to face that as well, but untill I'm absolutely sure I cannot find her I will keep posting messages on every forum I can think of, eat almost nothing and to try and find her.

Taking the story for what it's worth and not passing judgement - why, oh why, did you not get her details after the flight? It's not difficult surely? There are always a few minutes or more of standing about waiting to deplane?
Of course, if it's shyness then i can understand that!
Great story though!

He who hesitates is lost.
Babe Ruth (had) hit the most Home Runs in baseball , and struck out the most times.
Lots of ways to put it. Too bad . Done it myself, more than once... who wants to be rejected...but, the chance will come up again, and when it does:
Lean into it !

Well, actually she was flying with a man, presumably her husband. That was the weird part of it. And during the flight, he never saw any of this while he was sitting right next to her. But after the flight, he never left her side, so I did not get a chance to get her details.
I got a business card out of my suitcase of course, ASAP after the flight. I followed her a while while she was on her way to the transfer desk. I thought I had to go the opposite direction to the baggage hall. After the 3rd gate I let her go, thinking I would never get her alone somewhere to give her the business card so I turned around and walked the other way. But the baggage hall is the same way as the transfer desk as I found out 2 minutes and 4 gates further (that's how much I was daydreaming at that time). So I could have just followed her and try it after all. By the time I arrived at the transfer desk on my way to the baggage hall she was long gone and I don't know where too.
So, of course I can hit myself in the head for not trying to slip her my business card or trying to get her details, but with a man nearby, I get a little cautious.

I suppose KLM also doesn't want to pass a message to her on your behalf. In this way, you still wouldn't get her data (so privacy is guaranteed for her), but she could contact you. Dating is not KLM's core business
On the other hand - Dutch Railways have (or used to have?) a section in their in-ride-magazine 'Rails' for contacts.

1. So, you were playing with a loaded gun ,which is an entirely different story.
2. Sorry, but I have to say this: it sounds like you may not know how to play with a loaded gun.
3. Don't play with loaded guns.

Now I totally understand. Shame for you though.

Dutchguy001 - just cherish those memories.
As they said in that famous film Casablanca - "We will always have Paris".
You will probably never see the lady again. But you will always have Flight 602.

It's all for the best. Let's say somehow you had hooked up, fallen in love, and gotten married. Then on your honeymoon flight to Tahiti she spends the whole flight making goo-goo eyes at some guy in the next row.

Yeah, you guys are probably right. The memory is still there so let's just keep it at that. I'll always have flight KL602 with the memory of my mysterious woman.
And Eendracht, I've tried that one too. They also will not send a message to the other person. It would still be a violation of their privacy as KLM states it.
Next time I'll fly KLM again!!!!!

I just flew KL 602 LAX-AMS on monday and had a look at row 31. No nice young lady there... ;) I would have loved to ask her for her number and tell her the story behind it (as I was traveling without my wife on that flight... :) )
