Recently, I had asked at check-in about the possibility of of upgrading a single segment (the next one of my itinerary) for cash. LH wanted 370 USD to go from exonomy (B) to business. Does anyone know if they rebook you into business class or into an upgrade class? I would like to know if I will get the B miles (1.5X) or the C miles (2X).

It is very rare that LH offer upgrades for cash. Which airport did you fly from?

anyway, you'll get C Class miles. I upgraded from C to F several times with cash and always got F miles posted.
once I only got C miles but an email fixed that issue, too :)

I flew from IAD-FRA.
To clarify: they did not offer it to me. I approached the agent and asked how much it would cost. She led me to believe that this is always possible. The price is dependent upon booking class. Apparently since I was in B the difference to C was not THAT much. I chose not to pay the difference, however.
for 370USD for a transatlantic flight upgrade to C i would definitively do it! Maybe it's just me but i think it's worth it!

There was two of us travelling, so it would have been 740 out of my pocket. Plus I always find economy more enjoyable travelling together. Alone I always suffer in economy and would have gone for it.
But also remember, I was booked in B, so from a mileage standpoint, it would have only given me 50% more base miles, since I was already getting 150%.
