Canadian Airlines Plus - about CP Elite status

I am going to be flying on AA next month which will net me 16,000+ miles and though I would add those to my CP account, since I will be flying with CP/AC in December and that will bring in at least 14,000 miles.. now my question is.. DO you have to travel ALL on Canadi>n to get elite? or does it not matter as long as the airline in which you fly counts towards tier status?

You will be OK. As long as the airline you fly counts towards elite status and credit all your status miles to your Canadian Plus account.
