Canadian Airlines Plus - Royal Bank Canadian Plus Visa

Those of you that have one of these cards may be interested to know that according to their staff this morning all the cards were deactivated due to a 'glitch' over the holiday weekend. The problem was not fixed until today. Trying to use the card resulted in a 'Call for authorization' message to the vendor, and call volumes were leading to >10 minute delays in authorizations. I got stung twice and both times gave up waiting and swapped to a different card.

When I called this morning to complain about the lack of communication, slow response and the fact that the Visa office is unmanned outside office hours, they refunded a significant portion of my annual fee on the spot. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Anybody else similarly inconvenienced (and I am sure almost everybody was http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif ) may do well to call and complain too....
