If there is someone out there who posts to these forums using the name "Northernflyer", please post something to let me know. Last night I went onto the chatroom and made that name up as a distinct username for use on the chatroom only. If you exist, I appologize and did not mean to steal your identity. And, of course, I will change that username.

I don't understand how you could have made a new name if it already existed? Am I missing something here?

It is my understanding that to access the chatroom you need to input your present username and your passport. It would be difficult to access as each passport is hopefully unique.

That's what I found last night when I had to sign in under my FlyerTalk username. So I signed on using my FlyerTalk "Shareholder" username. But this was not the case on the first night. (Maybe they took down this requirement because Randy was holding forth and they wanted newcomers to experience the chat room without having to register for FlyerTalk.)
As a first time visitor to the chat room, I wanted to remain anonymous while I checked the site out. (I have actually never visited any other chat room on the internet either, so had no idea how they work.) As is obvious now, I was able to get into the chat room without having to give my FlyerTalk username or password, and then was invited to create a username. "Northernflyer" came into my mind as being appropriate and I used it.
But recalling the problem CATMAN had with someone using his FlyerTalk username in the chatroom when this feature started up, and thinking that I may have seen a posting on these forums from someone using "Northernflyer" as their FlyerTalk username, I posted the note above the following morning to seek his or her foregiveness for any breach I may have made in appropriating that name.
