Just returned from my HKG-YVR-YYZ flight and was extremely dissapointed for the most part.

CP 8 HKG - YVR J class
* No amenity kits
* Slippers have to be requested
* No menus
* No snack cart
* Only single kind of bread available on dinner service
* One of the FA got ticked off big time when a baby started crying on takeoff

CP 994 YVR - YYZ J class
* I was told no newspaper will be loaded on flights departing after 3pm !?!? Since when?

Terminal 2 did not give me a good impression. Baggage claim is a disaster area. They have a seperate area for priority baggage. 1 baggage claim handles 3 flights at a time while some J baggage came out on the prority area and some in the regular area confusing and frustrating a lot of people.

Sorry to hear that Empress. My flight on CP7 YVR-HKG 2 weeks ago was excellent. I guess the service is getting worse day by day.

One thing I noticed is that the FAs seema to be a bit "on the edge" on Eastbound flights back to North America, I have noticed this on AC & CX flights too. Strange.

Empress, you were out of luck on that day. My CP 8 flight a week ago was fine, though not much surprise. Anyway, I am returning to HKG tomorrow on AC 9 in business class. I just decide to switch to AC today; the flight isn't too fully booked and I can easily get two seats right away. However the draw back is I can't reserve any seats through the CP reservation system. Hopefully, it will be a pleasant flight!
