Canadian Airlines Plus - bye bye cplus...

no 1w tier points on anybody EXCEPT aa after may 31. the last day for regular cp plus points on 1w members and others except aa is as follows:

ba, ib -- 5/31
el al -- 6/1
cx, qf -- 7/3
alaska, ay -- 8/19
jal -- 9/4

now, explain to me, who is exactly left in the program??? and is lanchile going to stay once it begins 1w??

Once CP wrote termination of partnership with FJ on the cdnair.ca, but now this information was erased. CPlus desk is maybe confusing right now. In the case of LA, ow announced LA will join ow within few months, so if it will be certained, this would be terminated too, i think.

CP has been changing some of those dates lately. Earlier postings to other threads have given different dates. I wonder if these new dates are accurate or will some of them be changed again.

I guess it is their best interest to cancel there alliance agreements with Alaska Air and JAL too. I wonder what will the fall out be.
Will ANA code-share with CP on the YVR-Nagoya(NGO) and NRT?
Could the ending of agreements with Alaska Air lead CP & AC to launch their own service to the state of Alaska? I think it would be good them as YVR is closer to Alaska than SEA or any other airport in the lower 48.

I am curious as to exactly how much Canada-Alaska air traffic there really is (or has potential to have). I think the AS codeshare was more to facilitate service to western US markets other than SFO and LAX that CP couldn't economically offer (SAN, RNO, SJC, PDX, SEA) come to mind. With UA, I don't think AC/CP own service is necessary.

AS - 19Aug00..last date to accrue points and last day to book redemption travel with all redemption travel completed by 18Aug01.

BA - 31May00..last date to accrue points and last day to book redemption travel with all redemption travel completed by 31may01.

CX - 03Jul00..last date to accrue points and last day to book redemption travel with all redemption travel completed by 03Jul01.

LY - 01Jun00..last date to accrue points and last day to book redemption travel with all redemption travel completed by 31May01.

AY - 19Aug00..last date to accrue points and last day to book redemption travel with all redemption travel completed by 18Aug01.

IB - 31May00..last date to accrue points and last day to book redemption travel with all redemption travel completed by 31May01.

QF - 03Jul00..last date to accrue points and last day to book redemption travel with all redemption travel completed by 02Jul01.

OW Awards - 31May00..until this date, members can still redeem points for travel using OW awards if their travel is booked and ticketed by 31May00, with all travel complete by 31May01.

Effective 01Jun00, qualifying miles will no longer be earned for travel on OW partner flights with the exception of AA.

No word at this time with regard to LA/JL/FJ.
