According to reports in this morning's National Post and Edmonton Journal, Air Canada has received court approval to take over all of Canadian's aircraft leases (at a reduced payment schedule) as part of the restructuring process with creditors. Air Canada will sublease the aircraft back to Canadian, meaning that technically, all the metal is now AC! Of course, this will not affect the use of the "metal" term when applied to upgrading rules, etc.
