To help settle a bet...

Was the seat next to the emergency exit (what would be 9A/9F on a Canadian 737) removed on CP Air 737s as well on Pacific Western 737s? Or was the missing seat just on PW?

(Yes, the subject should read "Anyone..."

The seat is indeed removed, which is why I tried to book 10A or 10F when I travelled on those planes and couldn't upgrade to business. The leg room was nice.

Bradley,
All the 737's in the fleet were reconfigured the same regardless of origin airline. 12 J/C, 88 Y/C, putting row 9 in line with the emergency exit which is why there is no 9A,9F. This includes all the EPA/ND combis still in the fleet with the exception of 2 (I believe) that remain convertible to 1/2 cargo 1/2 passenger for the runs up to Yellowknife and Frobisher Bay.

So how wins the bet? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Bradley,
Me again. The thought just struck me. How far back are you talking? The CP 737s used to be configured at 122 seats which placed row 9 forward of that window exit. 9A, 9F were installed then and the window exit was between rows.

Remember that hokey "movable barrier" for distiguishing business class? Sure smiled the day that was gone!
