Anyone eaten at this new Thomas Keller restaurant in the Venetian? If so, got any thoughts?
Las Vegas - BouchonView Full Version : Bouchon hamajicky Nov 22, 04, 4:43 pm Anyone eaten at this new Thomas Keller restaurant in the Venetian? If so, got any thoughts? francophile Nov 22, 04, 9:36 pm I ate at the Bouchon in Yountville. They have very similar menus: http://www.frenchlaundry.com/bouchon/bomenu.htm http://www.frenchlaundry.com/bouchonLV/bomenu.htm The food was quite good, but overpriced. I don't know why French bistro food is so expensive in the U.S. French bistro food is not that difficult to prepare. The prices in Paris (the city, not the casino) for the same dishes would be at least 25% less expensive, yes even with the strong €. For example, at Bouchon, the Soupe à l’Oignon is $8.50! What kind of onions are they using? Onions grown from Alice Waters's garden in Berkeley??? Also, $16.95 for a Croque Madame: Are they shaving black truffles onto the egg on top???? Sorry for the rant. MIKESILV Nov 23, 04, 2:26 am Anyone eaten at this new Thomas Keller restaurant in the Venetian? If so, got any thoughts? Check back Jan 2, I have reservations for Jan 1st ;) mike |
