Has anyone used a Canadian upgrade to board an Air Canada aircraft? I have just booked a flight to Boston which connects in YYZ to a CP3000 flight which is actually on AC. Also is Maple Leaf Lounge accepting Empress lounge members yet?

As noted in this month's CP newsletter, EP, GOLD and Empress members, along with 1 guest, can use the ML lonuge.

From AC:

"We do understand that CP has offered their Platinum members in 1999 upgrade stickers valid from any published fare as was the case with our own Super Elite upgrade certificates for 1999. The only difference is that Canadian gave out upgrade stickers for two years instead of one and some of their Platinum members may still be holding some of these stickers. Unfortunately, they will not be able to use the 1999 upgrade stickers on any Air Canada flight. They must use their 2000 stickers.

When Aeroplan made the change for the 2000 upgrade certificates valid for specific fares only Canadian Airlines also followed with the same change. Therefore, CP Platinum members do have the same restriction on upgrading from specific fares that Aeroplan Super Elite member have.

Thank you for taking the time to bring your comments to our attention and if you have any other inquiries please feel free to contact us at any time.

Regards,

Super Elite Centre, Air Canada"
