Starwood Preferred Guest - Bonus points for bookings on new spg.com ?!
The German site (select "Deutsch") has the following promo
Sammeln Sie Bonus-Starpoints, wenn Sie über das neue SPG.com buchen! (= Bonus points for bookings on new spg.com)
If I click the link, an empty page comes up
http://www.starwoodhotels.com/promotions/promo_landing.html?category=NEWSPG&IM=SPG_HP_tl2_NEWSPG
any ideas how to open the promo?
The promo link (Bonus points for bookings on new spg.com) is still there and not working!? Any chance that the "Gurus" get the link working?
- How many points per online booking?
- Start and end date?
The link is still availabe if you enter www.spg.com and then select "Deutsch" as language:
In the middle of the screen: "Sammeln Sie Bonus-Starpoints, wenn Sie über das neue SPG.com buchen!" (= Bonus points for bookings on new spg.com)
If I click the link, an empty page comes up
http://www.starwoodhotels.com/promo...G_HP_tl2_NEWSPG
(all other links are working except the bonus points for bookings on the new spg.com)

I can't open the link, too. Some bonus points in my account before Xmas would be nice.

It is not offered on the English version of the site that I can tell. I don't know why.

So there's now an online booking bonus for using the new SPG.com - great.
Could someone post a working link? Thanks.

But can US residents book US stays on that site and still get the bonus points?? How many are we talking about by the way?
Sorry, no. Just on the German language site, from what I can tell.

Thanks for the reply Mr. Sanders. Before you edited your post above you had said that Stimpy sent you a link with an English version -
Very confusing....

If this bonus is good only for German "residents", I can see some address changes will probably be pending. :D

Sorry, Sanders!
I ring a lot (since 3 weeks!) to the service center about this problem. Nothing happend.
It is very poor because i booked 3 stays in UAD (2 Sheraton + 1FP).
Also, the Sheraton in Abu Dhabi (24/25.11) got no Platinum amenity and no fruit basket, only upgrade to a Suite (not in Tower, but with access)
FP Dubai (25/26.11) fruit basket only after 3! asking, upgrade only to a grandroom.Late check out (3-4 pm) only after the 2! asking. When i check out i got a present from the general manager
Sheraton Deira upgrade and amenty ok.
So i checked for my long stay in UAD to hilton (only Gold VIP; 2tier) to test this. Free Breakfast and upgrade without asking (+ late checkout no problem); four differnt hiltons.
Because first stay (online booking) was + 2000 extra points,
second stay was 4000 extra points,
third stay was 8000 extra points and
four stay was 16000 extra points (= 30,000 extra points for 4 online bookings!)
Maybe it was only a poor time for spg (no extra points also)

Wow, you had yours after asking 3 times...far better than I did....I asked more than 5 times...from 8am till 12 noon.
I will stay at the Sheraton Dubai Creek in future..much better IMHO.

Is it possible that this link is just an out-of-date (expired) registration page from when the new spg.com was debuted here in the U.S. at least, a while back?
That "New spg.com" promo ended back in August. The Terms & Conditions link still works (though really slow loading):

PremEx has it right on this one. This was the relaunch of spg.com web booking bonus that ended back in August. For some reason, it made its way to the foreign language sites - Japanese, German, and French - and was never removed after the promotion ended.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but it will be removed as quickly as possible.

I guess that it is pretty disappointing to those people who had hoped to get bonus points but is reassuring to us that no one in the USA is missing out on these points.
I guess "You win some and you lose some!"
