How is the Sheraton Gateway San Francisco Airport Hotel?
Does anybody have experience? Is it noisy since it is near airport? How is the room?
I will stay at SF for 3 or 4 days.
I have some Starwood points to redeem and it seems this hotel is the only category 1 in SF area.
Or if the Sheraton@airport is no good then I maybe can choose some Category 2 hotel from below:
1. Four Points by Sheraton San Francisco Bay Bridge at 1603 Powell Street ,Emeryville
2. Four Points by Sheraton San Rafael @ 1010 Northgate Drive San Rafael
3. Four Points by Sheraton Sunnyvale @ 1250 Lakeside Drive Sunnyvale
4. Sheraton Sonoma County - Petaluma @745 Baywood Drive Petaluma
Please advise the which one of the above is good and is near to attractions in SF.
Thanks.

The short answer to your question is that none of these hotels is anywhere near the attractions of San Francisco. (There is a Westin on Union Square, a Sheraton at Fisherman's Wharf, the Palace Hotel and the W Downtown.) The Emeryville location may be closest, but it's by no means San Francisco. The Sonoma County location is, in my opinion, the most pleasant. It's also near "Wine Country". The Airport hotel might have the best public transport options into the City.

Thanks for the info.
i have a rental car available during my stay so the transportation is not an issue unless you suggest it is so difficult to drive and park in SF so I should take public transportation instead.
Basically I just want to see some common attractions in SF like GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, Twin Peak, the cable car and some beach maybe. So what's your suggestion then? Your suggestion about "wine country" is nice. I'll go see it. IS the Sonoma County location only near to "wine country" but far from all other attractions?
thanks!

Welcome to FT ziyouma! I would not suggest driving in the city - it is difficult to navigate and parking is outrageously expensive. They have a system called BART that is the subway system that works rather well and is inexpensive.
I noticed that you have cross-posted in the Travel&Dining forum as well so I'm going to close this thread and have the discussion continue in Travel & Dining - San Francisco.
