Now that CP is selling seats (for domestic flights March 13 onwards)on AC as a code share, has anyone tried to get a CP sticker upgrade confirmed on one of these "CP" flights? If so was it honoured at the airport? I have a flight on Friday YVR-YYZ I am going to try this on. I am gold so normally the inventory will open up tomorrow for me.

I think all/most AC codeshare are listed as CP 3000 series flight number and in the upgrade stickers package it said upgrade may be used on Canadian Airlines flights excluding CP 3000/4000/5000/6000/7000 series flights.

You could try though.

Most upgrades are limited to the issuing carrier, and specifically exclude codeshares operated by another carrier.

That being said, there are some notable exceptions (AA/CP prime among them). I have no doubt that reciprocal upgrading will come sooner rather than later, particularly with the network rationalization.

I agree, and consider that the UA/AC situation is very different from the AA/CP arrangement. You can only use AC certificates on AC metal, I think you can use them on UA codeshares on AC metal, but not on UA planes irrespective of flight designation. i.e. CP is like UA in this wrt AC.
