Canadian Airlines Plus - Canadian/Alaska partnership end date

Just noticed this in the fine print in a seat sale ad from Alaska Airlines in today's Vancouver Sun - "Alaska/Horizon flight mileage may be credited to your CPlus account until August 20, 2000" (weird date, huh?).

It doesn't really bother me that much since I am already an MVP with Alaska, however, this must mean that AC is returning to the YVR-LAX market with avengeance this summer after suspending service sometime ago (check the summer sked). I will now always fly with AS up and down the West Coast simply due to their 'reasonable' upgrade policy for FFs.

Comments?

I noticed the fine print also.

The fares quoted in the ad are not that great. I got a fare to LAX about 1 month ago, for over the Easter weekend, for less thatn they are advertising, even when I include the taxes! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

During one of their scheduling changes (sorry I don't remember the planned date), AC/CP announced there would be five A320s a day YVR-LAX: four AC and one CP. I think this is a slight decrease in total seats from the seven 737s CP was flying, but a major increase in Business Class.

I assumed the one CP flight was a token to allow AA to codeshare (and that there might be an agreement that any schedule changes by AC would allow AA to codeshare with CP on all routes formerly served by CP).
