Starwood Preferred Guest - 2005 Cash and points hotels?

I am starting to plan our 2005 summer vacation, but can't seem to find a list of 2005 cash and points hotels. Is one available?

Based on the past few periods, SPG only seems to posts the new ones just before the prior period ends. Thus, I would look for these around Nov 29 or later.

Not yet. I think the next batch comes out at the end of this month/ early next month.

And then I certainly wouldn't expect the participation listed to go past March '05... :(

There are a couple of cash & points properties I'd consider booking in early December if only the rate plans were published for December yet... :( :( :(

(I suppose I could call the hotel, speak to the manager maybe, find out with some relatively certainty? if they'll be participating...)

I want to burn some SPG points, but would like to wait and see what C&P has to offer for the next few months. Perhaps William can shine some light on this one! ^

I think the C&P part of the program is fantastic, except for the part that they wait so until one period has ended before they post the next. I don't understand why on let's say November 1 (since this period expires Nov. 30) they couldn't already post the next list on the website. That way especially for anyting you want to book in December you don't have to wait until just a few days before.

I think that the individual hotels have to sign up for the C&P promo quater. It is their choice and I think that the decision to take part in the next quater promo happens quite late in the current one.

Bone up on the Cash and Points awards by using the FlyerTalk search function. If you use the "search titles only" option with "cash" and "points" as the search terms, you'll turn up literally several dozen threads.

You'll find that Cash and Points offers are only posted for a few months at a time. At this point, only the hotels participating through November 30, 2004 are listed. Summer 2005 is way too far off to count on any particular hotel being in the program at that time. It's best to book hotels for that time period using either points or a paid stay, then cancel and re-book closer to the date if they happen to participate in Cash and Points.
