Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Would You Use PL More If They Offered A 50% Cancellation Option?

Essentially, would you eat half of one day's bid amount for the right to negate the bid? Under this idea, PL would keep their fee (but of course you'd owe no taxes since there would be no stay). Let's also say that they would continue to offer the "add a day" option.
Anything that would raise the price of PL hotels would be a bad thing.
Since most hotel reservations, even through hotel websites, are now non-refundable, I don't see why Priceline would decide to be even more liberal on cancellations than the hotels themselves!

I agree with Tino. What might be interesting is if they (or someone else) "sold" a type of cancellation insurance. If it was a potential money maker for them, but helped reassure the more timid it might work.

It would make no difference to me. I've generally paid 1/2-1/5 the going rate through Priceline. If someday I have to cancel, it's a tiny proportion of what I've saved by using them, so I'll just wear it and move on.
They already have cancellation insurance - it's called "paying more for the refundable rate". :)
I agree - a couple of times I've had to cancel and eat a $40 Priceline hotel reservation. So what? I'll knock it off the thousands that I've saved so far...

No - If there is any chance I might need to cancel a room, I wouldn't use Priceline unless I could get back 100% and since that's not going to happen...
