US Airways strike averted until new year

Travelers flying US Airways during the coming holidays can breathe a little easier. The threat of labor-related disruptions has eased ... for the moment.
Expanded hearings next month have decreased the likelihood that U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Stephen S. Mitchell will rule on the airline's request to terminate labor contracts with its 28,000 workers until early next year.

That delay would also push back threatened labor strikes beyond the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

Unions representing flight attendants and customer-service agents had threatened to strike if the judge terminates their labor contracts.

So, will this alleviate traveler's fears and give US some holiday bookings??

Haven't a lot of "regular" leisure travelers already booked their holiday travel though? Doesn't that avg "regular" leisure traveler (once or twice a year traveler) plan their trip a few months out? I am anything but a "regular" traveler -- I still haven't decided about my plans for this Thanksgiving Day weekend. I have options but I just don't know what I want to do. Guess I'd better start thinking about it. Anyway, I'll just cash in 40K miles for a premium ticket.

Any chance this labour lull will last until after my FCO MR in March? ;)

That's why I booked mine as soon as I could. 12/4-10 :)
