Went to this mall on suk. It was very nice with a good food court, and well lit. i would like stay at the serviced apartments at this mall, but the price is a little steep (4000 bt) per night. Anybody know a way of getting a better rate? www.emporiumsuites.com

If you know someone in P&G, see if they can get you a corporate rate there - IIRC its 2900 baht.

Sorry...I posted in a hurry earlier. P&G (ie. Procter and Gamble, who have their offices in Emporium Tower) have a low corporate rate at the Emporium Suites...all you need is someone from P&G to make the reservation for you. They don't ask for any proof that you work in P&G and you can check in and settle the bill by yourself.
Alternatively, if you are staying for more than a few nights, you can negotiate with the sales department at Emporium Suites who will usually agree to a lower rate.

This may not be a lot of savings but you can get it for SGD164 nett (about US$100) for studio room at this travel agent in Thailand: http://www.asiarooms.com/rates/emporium_suites_8143.html.

Don't forget the 15 - 18% tax on top of the room charge.
How long are you planning on staying? There are hundreds of serviced apartments in BKK. Monthly rates on a studio seem to run ~ 2,000 THB per night (averaged) in the nicer facilities Centrepoint (http://www.centrepoint.com/eng/default.asp), for example).
If you want to drop down a notch, or two, and are only looking for a few days or a week, you can look into properties like Omni (http://www.the-ascott.com/OurResi/ResiGeneralInfo.asp?p=80&r=4).
I've visited and or stayed at both (Centrepoint Wireless and Omni) and thought that they were fine.

I will coming for 10 nights. I have stayed at The royal President twice, but the tv remote in the bedroom didn't work on both occasions.
I want a serviced apartement with a kitchen, living are, with a separate bedroom. The reason I wanted to stay at the Emporium, is beacuse there seems to be more to do when you are connected directly to a shopping mall.

This isn't connected to a mall, and its a good ten minute walk from a Skytrain, but you might want to consider it.
