A new feature on the website: you can now buy miles for yourself or someone else. The price for 10k is an absurd $283.75 with fees and taxes. You'd really need to be desperate to pay that.

Uh oh. I wonder if this is going to affect the CSRs ability to 'gift you miles' if you are close to an award. When I was previously short by ~80 miles for a 15K award I was trying to ticket, the CSR had no problem hooking me up with those extra miles since "you can't buy them anyway."

Now that I have the ability to buy those extra miles 1K blocks, I wonder if this policy is going to change.

Nope, I checked and you can buy them in as small as 1K blocks.

You should be able to exchange them on Points.com beginning tomorrow.
