Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - The dilemma of living on a beautiful island... what ferry to take to get to SeaTac?

I have a 11:10AM Horizon Air flight on Saturday to Sun Valley. We have carry-on only and can do web check-in the night before.
Living on an island we need to take a ferry to Seattle where we catch a cab to the airport.
My choice of ferries is the 8:45 AM which would put me at Seatac at around 9:45 AM or so or a 7:05 ferry that puts me there over three hours before our flight.....
I like to play it safe but three hours early just seems to much.... can I get away with being at the airport an hour and a few minutes before our Horizon flight? ( I have no status for the expedited security lines....)

That's tough but I'd do the 8:45 ferry. Unless you have to check bags. Then I'd take the early ferry and get some breakfast somewhere before going to the airport.

Just a guess, but are you coming from Bainbridge? The schedule shows departures at 7:05, 7:55 and 8:45 on Saturdays. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/schedules/current/index.cfm?route=sea-bi
If so, I would probably suggest the 7:55 just to be safe, although quite honestly, you should be fine with the 8:45. Arriving at 9:45 for 11:10 flight with no checked luggage should be plenty of time.

My eyesight is going bad....I thought the schedule said that there was no 7:55 on Saturday...but it is Sunday.......so that is a perfect time for me... a little early....but not too early.

My solution was to always fly from CLM on weekends - $10/wk parking, show up 20 minutes prior to departure, extra segments, fares usually not much different than flying from SEA. . .
That said, if you're a Bainbridge-based frequent flyer, the best thing possible is to have a Board Room membership. Darned tasty free espresso drinks and passable muffins on Sat. AM., and a nice place to relax in case the ferry system and TSA conspire to actually get you inside the secure area ahead of schedule.
I got to the point that I could tell what day of the week it was by what morning-time baked goods were on offer. I distinctly remember looking a passenger thinking they were out of their mind when they looked for scones on a Saturday...."It's Saturday, that means muffins, there are never scones on Saturday. . ."
As an aside, Paul's Limousine is cheaper than a cab to the airport, or Shuttle Express has been reliable from the ferry on Sat. AM for $21/couple.

Thanks for all the great advice.... I have been using Paul for years and enjoying the Board room when I get passes ( I just so happen to have a couple for the weekend.)
They don't have low carb muffins by any chance on Saturday's?

Just eat them standing up...that way, the fat grams won't count either ;)
