Not sure if anyone has ever tried this- my partner is going to be at the Toronto Hilton for the next two night, and she'd like me to come with her for the first night to put in my Gold VIP # to hopefully get an upgrade/lounge access. Her work is footing the bill, however the room name HAS to be in her name, and HAS to be purchased using her credit card. If I am with her- do you think it will be a problem for me to go up and get the points/upgrade??

Just your HH# will not cut it. If the room is booked under her name, she can not use you card. If she pays the bill she will get the points.

True - you won't get the points if the room is booked under her name and paid using her card, but you can (and in most cases will) get the upgrade if your name is on the reservation as well and you show up with her at the front desk with your card in hand...

If you add your name to the room and your hhonors number (probably need to do it in person with your partner at the front desk at the same time), you'll get the bennies associated with your status, regardless of who pays the bill. I've done this before when teaching at conferences and the director reserves the room and pays for it since he doesn't have an honors account. I've reaped the extra bonus of having all the conference fees billed to my room--so more points.
