Hilton HHonors - Does a partner stay in a room for free?

As a Diamond HH, when making a booking for a room, does a partner stay in the room for free? I am sure I've read it somewhere, but cannot find it now.
A single room is obviously more economical! :confused:

the search facility is my favourite tool. but as you are new i can confirm that this is true. book for one and in the comments box just tell them that your spouse will be joining you. this a great benefit. as to whether the spouse gets free breakfast see here - (and welcome, by the way!!!)

Good question, I don't have the answer ;) , but am also very interested in finding out. I've read that somewhere as well (think it's a benefit for Golds as well as Diamonds).
Up until now I've always booked a room for two and been charged more. My wife however does get annoyed when hotel check-in staff just ignore her. I was considering putting her name in the comments for future bookings, not sure what they'd think if I'd booked the room for one :confused:

Spouse stays free is actually a benefit of all Hilton HHonors members. Please note, however, that this benefit is not available at Hampton Inn or all-inclusive properties:
