Hilton HHonors - Does one earn the 500/100 FF miles on an award stay?

I apologize if this has been asked and answered earlier but I cannot seem to get my search function for this forum working to give me an answer -- I continue getting a blank screen.

I know one earns HHonors points for incidentals, as well as stay credit, but I don't know if one earns miles if points and miles is in their earning profile.

If anyone has a short and sweet answer with a link, if possible, I wold greatly appreciate it.

I thought I read somewhere in FT that stay credit toward elite qualification cannot be earned for PL stays, is that true? I've noticed that after a few PL stays, it shows it in my account that I did not receive points/miles...so does that mean that it qualifies for elite qualification? Thanks.

You are not supposed to earn miles on award stays, but it has been known to happen from time to time, at various properties, with no discernible pattern. If they post - great, consider it a pleasant bonus surprise. ;)

Just a note, that wonderful stay I had at the HGI in Napa a few years ago they did also post 500 miles for me. Just the cherry on top!
