Hilton HHonors - Targeted promos for non-US members ?

It seem like HHonors is moving more and more towards targeted promos (which I must admit makes sense from a business point of view). Currently a 25.000 point bonus promo is beeing mentioned in another thread. And previously a Diamond-fasttrack promo was mentioned as well.

Now I'm wondering how these promos are targeted, and more specifically to what extend they include non-US members ?

Judging by the newsletters, my membership seems to be managed for the nordic region alone, and I've never qualified for any targeted promo (my pattern is 15-20 stays/year, mostly Scandics).

Talking from experience, they invaded Canada a long time ago for a far less serious subject....economy... :D :D

On a more serious note...

Hilton has been very quiet on the promo front in the last 18 months. No 4 stays 50K, some targeted promo (region based or status based) In Canada SPG launched a credit card with MasterCARD two weeks ago. I suspect that Hilton must be working on a similar deal with VISA for the Canadian market. The response to the SPG card has been overwhelming, probably a great number of the new applications coming from HHonors members who finally have an opportunity to get hotel points with a regular credit card.

I also noticed from time to time some promo for the UK based members, few months ago a promo for the German based members, but I haven't seen anything for the Scandinavian Countries...:(

Yes, but I believe the German promo was open to all German residents, whereas some of the promos mentioned lately appears to be INDIVIDUALLY targeted.

Given that some of the best promos over the last years appear to be of American origin (AAGU, ERWD a.o.), my concern is if nobody outside the US will be individually targeted for such promos in the future.

And living in the outskirts of the world where competition seems less fierce (not to mention it's friggin' cold .....), it's my experience that US promos are often more generous to the customer.

I was targeted for a fast track for Diamond last year but Hhonors failed to tell me that I was enrolled :( I did find out when I mailed and asked if they would have a fast track that year and then they told me I was enrolled in the fast track that ended several months ago.

Quite a number of SIN based SQ flyers were given Gold VIP status. You could view that on the SQ board.
