US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Time to Lobby? Fort Lauderdale Club

It has become clear that with all the added traffic and international departures, FLL is going to be one of US's largest cities missing a USAirways Club. Do any of the roachfest/FFOCUS organizers have a line or query into management as to whether they are planning a club in FLL?
Is this our next call to CCY?

However, I would like them to re-open the club at MCO first. Anyone know if they are repairing it after the hurricanes?
Is there even space for a Club at FLL? I don't seem to recall there being any space for a Club on the US concourse past the security checkpoint.

Last time I was at MCO (mid-Sept) the sign stated that it was temporarily closed for repairs due to hurricane damage. I think it was Charley that did most of the damage.
I haven't been there in the past 4-5 weeks, though, to see if they're actually repairing it. It might depend upon who'd be paying for the repairs (airport, insurance, US). http://www.usairways.com/pro_services/club/news.htm states, however, that it's closed indefinitely due to hurricane damage.

Yes they do need a club in FLL, but I also can't think of where they would put it.
Any substantial expenditure on a new project like that might well need the approval of the Bankruptcy Court. Of course, their rationale would be that it is important at cultivating business travelers and would pay for itself quickly and, if they needed support for that position, they could call me.
I specifically have not joined the US Club because there is no facility at FLL and sometimes, all things being equal, will favor a ticket on an airline where I have club access (lifetime PresClub on CO and the proper color Amex card). A club in FLL would not only get my membership dollars, but would add to the number of times that I used their service.

Can't think of any place past security but there are two rooms right before security that I believe are now being used by TSA.
Would be great to have a lounge in FLL.

It would be even better to have a crew base in FLL. This will get rid of the more senior crewmembers who are miserable because they commute from there with all the full flights. Not to mention, my seniority in PHL will hold me a block again!

When I was in MCO a couple weeks ago, the really excellent agent said they were working to get it repaired quickly, not only to meet customer expectations, but also to get the Club employees back to work. They [of course] have been laid off since the Club closed. The agent then suggested the RCC, if I wanted to go over there.

Did the agent imply that US Club members on a US ticket would be granted access to the RCC?
