Is it possible to simply redeem 10k for a one-way mileage upgrade rather than 20k for a roundtrip? I have a transcon coming up that's not looking good on the outbound but the inbound is wide open. I'm looking to burn a few miles. Also, if possible to do this, could I still standby in the regular upgrade que on the return?

Thanks

one way mileage UGs are for intl. only. For domestic, its 20K whether you want the UG one way or RT.

By the way, where does mileage upgrades get pulled from, P or E? More, are mileage upgrades confirmed at time of booking as long as a F seat is available or just like an E-upgrade where its space-available?

It depends on the fare class of your coach ticket. If its full-full fare, P, else its E. They are confirmed at time of booking if there are P/E seats available, otherwise you are waitlisted.

I'm not sure what fare bucket it comes out of, but it is confirmed at the time of booking "as long as first class seats are available" (which leads me to believe it isn't E.)
