SAS EuroBonus - SAS facing increased competition in Stockholm

OK this is not really an SAS topic but I believe this is the forum to which it could be of most interest.

In the beginning of December SN Brussels will start a cooperation with Malmö Aviation and subsequently they will move all their flights from Arlanda to Bromma airport, just 10 km from the city centre (in contrast to 41 km to Arlanda).
There will be five flights Monday-Friday, one flight on Saturdays, and two flights on Sundays between BMA and BRU, these will be operated by both airlines metal.
At the same time Bromma will for the first time in history get a business class lounge, it will be available for Malmö Aviation gold card holders and probably also for business class passengers.
During the spring 2005 Malmö Aviation will also open two new routes to Prague and Budapest, although mostly targeting leisure travellers.

This is great news for Bromma. Since I have lived most of my life pretty close to this airport I have followed its development with great interest.
With the new cooperation and the improved service I suppose SAS will face severe competition.
Short travel time to the airport (15 minutes from Stockholm city), late check-in closure, lounge, short walking distance from check-in to gate to aircraft, business class onboard, and great onward connections to/from BRU.
And I haven't even mentioned the FF benefits... (even more relevant now when EB is changing)

This could really be an alternative to SAS in the future...
What do you think? At least I wouldn't mind.

Just to add: I just checked Malmö Aviation and SN Brussels webpages and you do earn full points in economy for all booking classes (for BMA-BRU you earn 1600 points in Malmö Aviation FF and 1000 points in SN Brussels FF as it looks now). SN Brussels also serves free food onboard in both classes.

I thought about this as well. But it seems like SAS is trying to compete a little with their improved business class service.
Then on the other hand, for the leisure travellers they take away almost all the reasons to choose SAS over any other airline.

Well as both EB and the SAS service concept are changing, at least I am checking alternatives as I don't really see much point flying SAS anymore.
As long as I have my status I have an incentive flying SAS but when that one expires (I doubt I will requalify) then I could just as well change to something else.

Bromma would be an excellent choice for me as I could leave my home in Stockholm at 6 am and with good marginal catch the 7 am departure to BRU, a quick change in BRU and I could land at LHR around 11 am.
I would use BMA more today when flying via CPH if it wasn't that SAS had such a crappy timetable and that there is no lounge to use.
SN has a repuation of having a pretty good inflight product and with their FF program one can earn points on most OW airlines such as BA, AA, IB and LX (for most of them 100% points even with a discounted economy ticket).
The possibility of getting future lounge access at BMA is another advantage.

SN and Malmo Aviation (codesharing) will as per winter schedule fly 5 times weekdays between GOT and BRU.
With SAS new classes and eurobonus concept this sounds as an interesting competitor. As mentioned SN offers good inflight service in both classes, as well as convenient transfer in BRU. For leisure travel this seems very temptive, and as also mentioned, what purpose is left to travel SAS for leisure ??

From GOT there is also very limited snowflake travel possible, only to LHR.

Very interesting with new solutions, and it will be really interesting to see/know how SAS handles the competition, and how their bookins is turning out from November...?!

You can credit SN flight onto LX's FFP only for the routes between Switzerland and Belgium.

You cannot earn miles for Q class (which is used for the cheapest fare.) and restriction for V class (You can not earn miles for V class ticket on most of other airlines FFP).
