They will make photocopies of everything and you must leave few hunder dollars as a security deposit in top of your car rental bill. jan_az Oct 14, 04, 12:53 am I believe Alamo and Enterprise accept debit cards Be aware that rentals at PHX airport have a ridiculous tax and facilities and yada charge - can be up to about 30 percent of your rental amount khalid Oct 15, 04, 7:37 am I believe Alamo and Enterprise accept debit cards Be aware that rentals at PHX airport have a ridiculous tax and facilities and yada charge - can be up to about 30 percent of your rental amount Thks 4 that info. How can I avoid those charges? Can I rent from a locatioin out from the a/port? If so, what / where would suggest I go? Thks again, K Toronto jan_az Oct 15, 04, 11:41 am Enterprise has a lot of off-airport locations that will actually deliver a car to you ( i.e at a hotel or office location). You can check out www.enterprise.com I think Hertz local edition does something similar but I am not sure of their debit card policy wahooflyer Oct 16, 04, 11:52 pm Enterprise does not accept debit cards at the time of rental. The only major agency in Phoenix I'm aware of that allows debit cards is Dollar. I believe they put a $350 hold on your card until you return the vehicle, so be sure you have plenty of funds in your checking account to avoid unexpected NSF fees. Fox Rent-A-Car allows cash rentals with a $500 deposit. wrose99 Oct 19, 04, 1:14 pm I've been wondering this also--do Hertz, Avis, National or Budget have desks at any local hotels, thus enabling you to avoid the high airport taxes (this works at SFO, for example, you can rent from Hertz at the airport Hyatt, and avoid the $10 airport charge--even if you return the car to the airport!).
