Now if we all would have spent 500K on the "52 week low" we'd be millionaires. ;)

Well--you could have done even better a few years ago on US.

After the crash of Flight 427 in PIT in 1994, US stock was at about $4.50 a share. I was still living in PIT at the time thinking that it couldn't go lower (or go out business---wrong on that one)...

I came close to buying a lot (meaning 10,000 shares), but I chickened out.

Before the UA merger attempt, the stock got as high as the $65 to $70 range.

It still hurts to think about a $60 profit on 10,000 shares..... :(

Many, many people also bought at the yearly high and are now looking at $1 a share.

And the point is.... ?

No particular point.

I am not really into stocks that cost less than a Big Mac. No leverage.....

I road that rollercoaster.

I bought a few hundred shares at $4 and sold 1/2 of it when it hit $12. I held on as it went to $60+ then back to the $20s or 3$0s. After the UA merger announcement it went to $48 and I got out.
