Asia - Bookstores in Bangkok?

Can some of you BKK hands recommend good bookstores there for SE Asia guidebooks, coffee table books, etc.? I'm specifically interested in the new DK Eyewitness Guide to Thailand, the Nancy Chandler map of CNX (already have the BKK one), books on Cambodia from Canby Publications, and a good general guidebook for touring the temples around Siem Reap.
I'm not interested in pirated books, just good stores for books in English. Of course, low prices would be a plus. Is there one particular shopping center for books? I'm staying at Shangri-La, so locations near BTS stops would get the ^ . Thanks in advance!

Try Asia Books (http://www.asiabook.com/store/maps.asp). Lots of branches - the one's at Thaniya Plaza and Siam Discovery Center are probably the most convenient for you.

Ok let see.. what do we have here
World Trade Center (bts- Chidlom) : Kinokuniya, Asia Book
CP tower, The Emporieum, Siam Square : Bookazine
Bookazine actaully imports all the magazine for Thailand.. so check it out.

Big Kinokuniya outlet in Emporium too, with a good selection of travel guides. Imported books tend to be a little on the pricy side in Thailand though... and I though Emp also had an Asia Books outlet, not Bookazine? But plenty to choose from in any case.
I've always wondered though why Bangkok doesn't appear to have a single "mega" multi-floor music or book superstore a la Tower Records or HMV, given the multitude of small operations you'd think there would be room for one (or two or seven).

Brings up another good question: Any recommendations on good music/CD stores, especially for Thai and/or other SE Asian music?

All you asked for : good selection of books, music, souvenir, food in fine dining or food court, even checking air ticket price to your desire destination. Take BTS to central station and change the route to sukhumvit route. Emporium is connected to Prompong Station. Good luck !!!! :D

Thanks for the excellent hints and tips, which I've incorporated into my trip notes. I also found this BKK shopping webpage (http://www.thailandguidebook.com/shopping.html) with a list of shopping centers near BTS stations, brief descriptions of the centers, a box with bookstore locations, and more.

I just came across this link in a local magazine today, so I might as well post it here since its easy to search...for people interested in secondhand books only (who knows where they've been? :D )
