For what its worth. If my wife and I are arriving at a hotel seperately I'll bid joe and sally jones--shows up as joeandsally jones on confirmation but to date no problem with either of us getting in first

You don't have to do that. You can bid with one name and then call the hotel to add the other to the reservation.

I've ran across a couple of hotels that would not add another name to the reservation prior to check-in. They claim the name on the reservation they receive from priceline (hotwire and hotels.com for that matter too) needs to match the name used at check-in (they claim they're protecting me and the Hotel against fraud) and I need to go through priceline to make the change. Once I'm checked in, I'm able to add another name.

Other times I've been able to add the name just by callling the Hotel. Just like trying to change the dates, or showing up at the Hotel a day earlier/later than reserved.

Either way, it seems it and miss with the different properties.

I've had the same problem calling the hotel--but actually I have always worked around it
#1Make sure your talking to the front desk not central reservations
#2 Call back and talk to someone else. That can be a problem in a smaller property
The two first names have been problem free so far-but who knows
