Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Hkg-bkk-athView Full Version : Hkg-bkk-ath gear down Oct 3, 04, 8:13 am anyone heard about this rumour ? newcx12345 Oct 3, 04, 8:42 am AS IF! I cannot wait for the LHR-JFK before this. As if there will be LOADS of HK people going to ATH now! Guy Betsy Oct 3, 04, 11:22 am anyone heard about this rumour ? Are you sure it's not HKG-ATH? GK Oct 3, 04, 7:36 pm i guess it'll soon go the way of HKG - IST... newcx12345 Oct 4, 04, 12:21 am Just want to know when CX did operate the IST route, what aircraft did they use? B-HXB Oct 4, 04, 2:32 am Just want to know when CX did operate the IST route, what aircraft did they use? A340-300; I think it went twice weekly. mhtaipei Oct 4, 04, 4:03 am and why are you asking this, gear down ??? you are the insider. I have been lobbying CX to apply for HKG-VIE-XXX. If they fly to ATH first, I will boycott them for a year. :D gear down Oct 4, 04, 1:35 pm mhtaipei, my friend heard this while he was transiting in LHR mhtaipei Oct 5, 04, 5:10 am and I thought you were put in charge of gauging market response to a proposed new route. seriously: ATH. I would be VERY surprised if this were true. MAN Flyer Oct 5, 04, 7:49 am seriously: ATH. I would be VERY surprised if this were true. There is a large Greek community in Australia, particularly MEL where they make up a good chunk of the population. zhaobao Oct 5, 04, 11:36 am There is a large Greek community in Australia, particularly MEL where they make up a good chunk of the population. If the frequency is only 2 to 3 times a week, that might be OK. But relying on Greek Australians to fill the plane 7 days a week might be a little hard. CX would also have to justify that there are enough Greeks travelling to Far East and Australia/NZ to warrant this service. monahos Oct 8, 04, 10:36 am But relying on Greek Australians to fill the plane 7 days a week might be a little hard. TG is doing very well on BKK-ATH since OA stopped flying to Australia. Not a lot of premium traffic, though. One would think this would be a logical market for EK and its high-density Y cabins, but their one-stop DXB-ATH 332 doesn't seem to be overly popular. |
