So this trip officially marked the transition of the majority of my play from the craps tables to the poker tables (I think the Flamingo will be OK, as most of my craps play was at the $5-10 tables.)
One interesting note was that I heard the same story from nearly everyone at the Poker tables .... they had taken their 21 or Dice action to Poker, and were quite happy. Probably a sign of a larger trend, but will it last?
The Flamingo recently completed an expansion of their poker room. They now have 9 tables offering Hold-em in 2-4, 4-8, No Limit, and Stud at 1-5. At 2-4 the rake was 10%, maxing out around $3.50
They have 3 daily High Hand winners (which I think comes from $1 taken from every pot over $20), with first place paying a little over $1000 for each day I was there (it usually took a Royal to win it.)
Dealers were friendly and professional, the room was smoke-free, and you could even find a 2-4 game at 8am (manned by the remnants of the previous evening) - Perfect for those who are early risers or still on east coast time.
They did not yet have any tournaments, but talked of trying some in October.
