Hi all,
I appreciate we've discussed problems with the new CX website already, but there's one other thing I wanted to know...
When allocating myself seats for the last couple of flights I've booked online, the seat allocation window comes up and appears to work OK, but my choices are never recorded when I press "Continue".
Are others having the same problem, or is it just me? It's bad enough having to switch from my preferred browser just to use the CX booking system...
Cheers,
Nick

I think the CX website will only take your preference down but not a specific seat number.

In Asia anyway (that's where the CX website is based), you can only book specific seats if you're a Silver/Gold/Diamond Marco Polo member. If you are, then you'd have to call the MPC desk to do that.

Other members may get specific seat selections only on higher coach fares in Y or B class, or in Business/First Class.

Yeah I'm a Gold member in HK (10k left to Diamond...been a hard slog!). Never used to have a problem booking the exact seats, but the last 2 reservations (ie since the web "revamp"), it hasn't worked. Maybe my PCs have gremlins...

The website DOES allow you to book your seats (Confirm the seat allocation). (the reason I know is that I used to use ti to check the seat maps (before I discovered itn).

Yeah I know it should, and previously I had no problems. Just that the last two reservations I've made I've been able to get the sub-page for the allocation and it displays availability, but when I click on the seats I want it doesn't seem to save them. No matter...I rang up MPC today and got 1A for DPS-HKG on Sunday as I'd wanted :p

You might want to try clearing your browser cache and logging on anew.

I went over the website with a couple of web application developers last weekend - they were plain horrified how slow and badly implemented the booking engine is. I was told that there are 4 big competitors out there offering this kind of software, but CX seems to have bought none of their packages. Their mess is home made.

I have been trying to book ANY award flight for weeks now, just out of curiosity and I still end up with error messages on the penultimate page. :(
