Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Has Anyone used Priceline for KUL Hotels?

Quick question please:

Have just booked a trip to KUL this weekend and thought I might try to Priceline a Hotel downtown.

Unfortunately BFT shows only one hotel in KUL, the 5* Renaissance Kuala Lumpur. The two reviews it received last January are not complimentary and I'm reluctant to bid, especially since Marriott place Priceliners in the New World tower.

Searching on Better Bidding yields no posts for the keywords Kuala Lumpur, KUL, or Malaysia.

Does anyone have experience using Priceline in Kuala Lumpur?

Check on bidding for travel.
I think people got lucky with Mandarin Oriental, though the rates they quoted seemed standard to me (but deal to them). MO is THE place to stay anyway.

This review (http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g298570-d305755-r2506993-Renaissance_Kuala_Lumpur_Hotel-Kuala_Lumpur_Wilayah_Persekutuan.html) paints a positive experience at the Renaissance.

If you choose to book direct you can get a real picture of some of the properties at Real Hotel Photos .com (http://www.realhotelphotos.com) which is a new site we just started... but already had some Malaysian properties.

You should also try the Priceline Asia Discussion Board (http://p197.ezboard.com/bpricelineasiadiscussions). Take note that most of the bids are logged on the Priceline Hong Kong and Priceline Singapore sites and in the local currencies. You are welcome to bid at either site regardless of your country of residence, but just pay attention because you are bidding in those currencies.

I did use in Malaysia but not in KL I got the 4 star Shangri la in Kota KinaBalufor I think less then $50 usd, remember that you can end up in the Renaissance if its in the same zone with another 4 star that you are hopeing to win. Do go to Priceline sg. they are doing a promo, you might also try priceline hong kong Good Luck!

I stayed at the Renassaince in KUL through Priceline and really liked the hotel. Friendly, attentive staff, clean, comfortable rooms, great views out of the windows. It's not Mandarin Oriental, but I would give this hotel a solid ^ and would gladly stay there again.
And yes, I was in the New World wing.

PM me if you want any additional info about it.
