Hi There

I am new to FlyertalK after recently moving from another Forum. I have to go to a wedding in Dubai next weekend and the only available flight to suit me was with Ethiad via Abu Dhabi.

Ok Reasonably priced but be aware of where the coach drops you in Dubai. It is a bit in the middle of nowhere so allow sufficient taxi transfer time etc

Etihad has very inconsistent service - several different planes from several different carriers, generally ok seats / ife / food - nothing awful nothing great. far behind ek / qr / gf in terms of service...the fact that AUH-DXB is in a bus is quite annoying

Unless you happen to be going to somewhere down by the Burj/Madinat/Dubai Marina area. The bus stops along the highway into town if you ask, while the last stop is their office closer to Dubai proper.

Etihad is the same as before?

JFK has the newest / best Etihad plane - the A340-500. My experience is to and from YYZ only (same seats as A340-500)

In J: Food was pretty good, IFE was good but nothing compared to EK. Seats were very comfortable and service was competent. I wouldn't say that Etihad is amazing but the new 777-300ER/340-500/330-200 product is definately worth the price you pay.
